In 1990, Australia Post released the first Thinking of You stamp. Intended to be used when sending a message for both happy and sad occasions, the design featured a floral arrangement, symbolic of sharing and expressing good wishes and heartfelt feelings. The focus then shifted to love themes, aligning with Valentine's Day.
In 1999, the first edition of a range of Greetings stamps were released to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, sending wedding invitations, etc. These two exclusive 'Imperforate and Perforated' joined Se-Tenant Reprint Pairs of the 1990 41c and 43c Thinking of You stamps were released in the 2007 Prestige booklet titled, 'Behind the Stamp', compiled and edited by the renowned philatelist, Richard Breckon.
The objective of the booklet was to highlight milestone precedents and marketing trends in the postal service as they evolved through time. The original 41c stamp was issued early in the year but with the standard postage rate then increasing to 43c, it was reissued in September with the new rate and a change of the background colour, and the wording at base, to pale green. Having been originally issued as 'Singles', the reprinted Se-tenant Pair is unique. Furthermore, the stamps are 'Micro-print dated, 2007' (BL Corner).
Both of the Perforated stamps are gauge 14 3/4 x 14 whereas the gauge for the original 41c stamp was 14 x 13 1/2 and the 43c, 14 3/4 x 14 1/2.
