2013 Headline News - Mini Sheet format - Special Edition - America's Cup Victory

For the 2013 Headline News series a Special edition stamp pack was released which included exclusive Sheetlets / Miniature Sheets for each of the stamps along with a Reproduction of the Sydney Morning Herald Newspaper dated 16 August 1945, declaring the end of WW11 in the Pacific. The Sailing Into History stamp pays tribute to Alan Bond's Australian syndicate finally winning the America's Cup in 1983. Their first campaign was in 1974, followed by 1977 and 1980. Skipper, John Bertrand, triumphed over Dennis Conner to claim the Cup which had been resolutely defended by the New York Yacht Club for 132 years.
